Where on earth did you find anyone who thinks the FDA&#039;s existence is a good thing. This is what was in my email this morning.

Adverse drug reactions cause 100,000 deaths a year, and it&#039;s all because of a struggle between money, medicine and safety.
Dr. Wolfe says user fees are a huge problem with the drug approval process. That&#039;s money drug companies pay the FDA to get their products reviewed and put on the market. In 2009, proposed user fees will make up more than $600 million of the FDA&#039;s budget, a 14 percent increase from last year. It will pay for more than half of all drug reviews.
