What is your Sun IQ?

Spring is here and summer will be here soon.  It’s the time of year that people look forward to getting outdoors and enjoying activities under the sun.  However, over exposure to the sun, or sunburn can cause serious problems with your skin.  Sunshine is needed for all living creatures:  humans, animals, plants, and even ocean organisms.  The key is to learn to get the right amount of sunshine without getting over exposed.  Here is a great video titled:  Facts You Need To Know About Sunlight and Skin Cancer.  This video is from Dr. Mercola at mercola.com.

Watch the video and then take the American Cancer Society’s quiz:  What is your Sun-Safety IQ?

Learn more at the CDC’s website in this article: Choose Your Cover – Sun Exposure Questions and Answers.

Also, here’s a great article at Emax Health

Finally, under the EPA’s SunWise Program, read  Health Effects of Overexposure to the Sun

Remember:  We all need the sunlight but we must learn how to make it beneficial to our health.

I see you used the water droplet. Looks very good Ted, you did a great job.

Where on earth did you find anyone who thinks the FDA’s existence is a good thing. This is what was in my email this morning.

Adverse drug reactions cause 100,000 deaths a year, and it’s all because of a struggle between money, medicine and safety.
Dr. Wolfe says user fees are a huge problem with the drug approval process. That’s money drug companies pay the FDA to get their products reviewed and put on the market. In 2009, proposed user fees will make up more than $600 million of the FDA’s budget, a 14 percent increase from last year. It will pay for more than half of all drug reviews.

    Have a good day.

    Clara
